Gah, I'm so behind on posting the summary about the Cincinnati event with Lisa McMann and Cassandra Clare. Sadly, my camera died and we didn't get that many pictures taken, but Kristi was nice enough to send me some of hers, so I'll be using those for this post...as I haven't had time to upload the ones I have (my sister took them).
Okay, back to the beginning...I met up with Chelsea (The Page Flipper) and Kristi (The Story Siren) for the reading/signing yesterday (Friday, April 3!!) and it was absolutely amazing. I was really nervous to meet Chelsea and Kristi but they were as sweet as you would imagine them to be and I soon adjusted to it all and it was like I'd known them my whole life...I'm a pretty shy person in general, so this really is something! :)
I went with my sister, Kari, and Chelsea brought along her best friend so it was a nice little group and we all had a blast talking...especially about, what else?, books! We really wouldn't be book reviewers if we didn't.
Before the signing began, we all went through and bought the books we wanted. My sister got a paperback copy of Wake, as we'd only had the ARC version up until that point and I got City of Bones to get signed (2 copies, look out for a contest!) and Willow (yeah, I had to get my own copy and you should too).
Anyway, the reading was a lot of fun, especially hearing the authors answer some of the crowd's questions. They were both hilarious, and I got to touch Mrs. Spoobin as well. She is quite a lovely little spoon. ;-) Lisa read a little bit from Gone, though it's not approved by the publisher so it might be different later, and that was amazing. Makes me so excited, too bad I have to wait a year! Cassandra talked about a possible movie version of her series, and how people have made offers, so maybe it'll happen in the future! I think that would be just lovely.
I definitely thank them for signing all of our books and I had a blast meeting up with Chelsea and Kristi. I really hope ot see them again sometime really really soon...Supernatural Summer girls!
