BBAW: And We Should All Pay it Forward (GIVEAWAY)

This week is the ultra-awesome Book Blogger Appreciation Week and you can find lots of other fun giveaways here. I decided that in honor of BBAW and my own Pay it Forward event. I would love for some of you to also host a giveaway in honor of that too.

Catherine Ryan Hyde wrote "Pay it Forward" that became the movie. Yes, it was a book first. Her next novel Jumpstart the World comes out the same week as National Coming Out Day (and JTW deals with transgender issues). In honor of that, Oct. 11-15 (as the button says above) we will be holding some amazing auctions with all money going to the lgbt charity GLSEN. To promote it, please post the button above on your blog...you can grab the code in the upper right hand corner of this blog...or even hold a giveaway on your own spreading the word about the book, Jumpstart the World, and the auctions.

I also wanted to make sure you knew about the ongoing auctions from now until early December. You get a book MARKED UP by the author that wrote it...notes throughout that share secret, behind the scene information. Right now you can get the highly acclaimed The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff. It's BBAW...spread the word, bid, show your love of reading!

But enough about all of that...it's time for the giveaway from me!

One of you (from U.S. or Canada) can enter to win a fun prize pack. If you'r a girl, I already have some fun items I wish to include...but if you're a guy, I'll figure something out.

What will definitely be included? A copy of Pay it Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde!!

This is my particular Pay it Forward/BBAW giveaway, so please link up your own, and remember it has to have the Pay it Forward button or mention the auctions with a link back to my blog or you can't link up here but can link up at the BBAW blog.

To Enter: What are your thoughts about Jumpstart the World, would you buy it/get it from the library, etc? Comment on the book somehow and you're entered. I'll have the summary posted below...

+1--Leave a NEW comment if you follow my blog. Thanks!

Have a Great Week...Lauren

Jumpstart the World Summary:

Elle is a loner. She doesn’t need people. Which is a good thing, because she’s on her own: she had to move into her own apartment so her mother’s boyfriend won’t have to deal with her.

Then she meets Frank, the guy who lives next door. He’s older and has a girlfriend, but Elle can’t stop thinking about him. Frank isn’t like anyone Elle has ever met. He listens to her. He’s gentle. And Elle is falling for him, hard.

But Frank is different in a way that Elle was never prepared for: he’s transgender. And when Elle learns the truth, her world is turned upside down. Now she’ll have to search inside herself to find not only the true meaning of friendship but her own role in jumpstarting the world.

Tender, honest, and compassionate, Jumpstart the World is a stunning story to make you laugh, cry, and honor the power of love.

It sounds really interesting and innovative. I'd definitely try to get it from the library (being a half-broke college student, I don't get to buy books very often).

I think it's a fascinating premise! I'm lucky enough to be on a book tour for it, so I'll have a copy of it soon and I can't wait!

Wow, this book looks facinating. What a subject (transgender love) that never gets written. I love unusual storylines so I would buy this, I will put this one on my wishlist. Thanks

I'd put that book on my library list (limiting my purchases now) and would recommend it to my book club, if I think they would like it.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Sounds interesting enough to borrow from the library. It deals with a real issue.

While Jumpstart the World isn't exactly up my alley as far as books go it doesn't sound like something I wouldn't be willing to at least give a shot. I'm usually open to try a new read and if I liked it I would totally recommend it to others.
