A Look Back at Blog World (5)

A Look Back at Blog World (5)

I haven't had one of these posts in a couple weeks, so some of these links are a bit older than just a week! Enjoy!

Books I'm Now Curious to Read-

My So-Called Chaos wrote a review of the book Tell The Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt. I've seen this book around before and I loved the title, but I never knew what it was about. It sounds quite good!

Interesting Posts-

My Chocolate Moments shows you how you can make your own personalized ABC book using Shutterfly. How adorable!

The blog Novel Ink has a fun feature on their blog titled Inked where bloggers and authors can share the stories behind their tattoos.

Emily from The Freckled Fox has a cute, love-themed playlist on her blog for the month of February.

Questions Answered from ShootingStarsMag-

Q. On my review for Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I got a comment asking about the appropriate age range for this book/series.

A:  I've read the first two books now and there are mentions of grown up topics, as well as violence, so I would definitely say it's an upper young adult book. Ultimately, it's up to the reader though and what they can handle!

Oh man, it is so hard to determine age appropriateness

I'll have to check out that Inked post!

DoSaB upset me and I'm almost 50! lol but I agree - upper YA. I think most teens that age could handle it.

My sister in law made our kids some personalized books and they are really cute. As far as DOSAB I think it is upper YA and adult. I met Laini Taylor and she said her series is marketed everywhere else as Adult. I think it is far beyond YA.

I've also been curious about Tell The Wolves I'm Home. I would agree about The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy.

This is such a neat little recap, no matter how many social media places I'm at I'm always missing out on things, so thanks for the post!

I absolutely love looking at bookish tattoos! I've often thought about getting one myself, something small that won't look horrible when I get older and my skin starts to sag. I love the little Harry Potter scar, now I just need to work up the courage to have one done. It's hard when I'm such a chicken :D

Thanks for sharing Lauren <3

I didn't grow up in this country, so all my early literature was in Spanish. I had to read as an adult some of the kids classics.
I'd would say the same thing about Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

I like the idea of the Inked post. And I agree, Daughter of Smoke and Bone is definitely older YA. Great post, Lauren! :)
