Sunday Post (6): I've Created a Book Challenge

Sunday Post is hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Thanks for all the well wishes last week for my dad. He's finally home (he was in the hospital for about a week) and he's doing a lot better now. Just needs to take it easy and still has to watch what he eats, but hopefully he'll finally be on the mend! My mom, sister, and I spent yesterday night decorating the tree and making cookies while listening to Christmas music. It was very relaxing! I love this time of the year. Today I have a Christmas Cookie Exchange party I'm hosting with my sister. I've never done one or even been to one, but I thought it would be fun...and a nice, easy way to get a mix of cookies for the holiday season!

Last Week's Posts on Let's Get Beyond Tolerance:

Normally I have at least three posts a week over here, but I totally failed and only got two this week. However, I did finish my last research paper for grad school, so score!

This Week on ShootingStarsMag:

The Stupidest Angel book review
The Night Sister book review + Make it a Gift

and more!!! (these are subject to change though!)

Thanks for all the feedback on doing a challenge in 2016 where you read books with unique formats. I found this Goodreads list of possible books - I can't vouch for all of them, but it's worth a look! I'll have an official sign up post for this one this week but feel free to let me know if you want to take part in the comments!

I am so, so glad that your dad is doing better! I hope he continues to make progress every day :D And the challenge sounds so fun! I admit, I haven't read a ton of the books on the Goodreads list, but definitely Illuminae! That's always the first one that pops into my head. And maybe Everything, Everything? Anyway, it sounds like fun!

That's great to hear that your dad is home! I imagine he already feels better just being out of the hospital. A cookie exchange sounds like lot of fun. I always end up eating way too many cookies but it's so worth it! Have a great week!

Wonderful news about your dad and yay for being done with the grad paper. :) I need to get crackin' on my Christmas baking. I think I'll wait one more week and then fire up the oven.

This sounds like an interesting challenge, I'm going to try and join more challenges this year, I do have a hard time sticking to them, but I'm going to try extra hard this time. I'm glad to hear your dad's doing better, I hope you have a great week! :)

I'm so happy your dad is back home and doing better, Lauren! It's always better to have our loved ones at home :)
Christmas cookie swap party sounds like a blast... but that would also mean you have to make more of the kind of cookies you do make, right? I'm sure you had a great evening.
I'm checking out the books for the original formatting challenge, I'm still debating with myself about participating... I don't want to have too many challenges, but I also don't want to miss out on the fun :)
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

Oh, Lauren, I wasn't aware your father was ill. I'm glad to hear that he is home and feeling better. Too, I like the sound of your reading challenge! I find it unique, I'll be skimming through the list of books you've shared to see if this is something I see myself possibly enjoying :)

Oh I'm happy your dad is doing alright! Such a wonderful moment when you got home. I did the christmas lights on the tree with my mom the other day. I kind of want to make cookies now.
Good luck with the challenge! You should submit it to Novel Challenge.

Good luck with your Challenge! Sounds interesting!

Oh, that sounds like an interesting reading challenge - I never give enough attention to book formats, which seems unfair, somehow...
I'm glad to hear that your dad is doing okay!
